Who we areā¦
Veritas is a social enterprise offering children and families Early Preventative
Intervention Programmes that enable long term transformative and empowering
solutions that effect lasting behavioural changes. The programmes are designed
to work with families who are at risk from social exclusion due to mental
health, stress, anti-social behaviour, their financial circumstance, long term
dependency on anti-depressants or other substances or having children taken into
care. They are designed to be delivered in the community for example, parenting
skills, effective communication, budgeting and general life skills or as
residential programmes.
One of our most influential early intervention programmes is the Residential
Supported Break.
Our Residential Supported Breaks offer constructive and purposeful activities for
the whole family that promote empowerment in individuals, create mutual respect,
and encourage social awareness, responsibility and self-respect enabling each
individual to make choices willingly that lead to permanent positive behavioural
changes. This is achieved through a uniquely designed working model within a
community experience framework.
Our philosophy is to facilitate positive lasting transformation by empowering
individuals within the family to take responsibility for their choices. In this
way social awareness increases which in turn reduces social exclusion and
anti-social behaviour. Once the foundations are put in place during the break a
real sense of community develops and continues to grow when the families return
home, reducing their feelings of isolation.
Over the past years we have worked successfully with children and families who
displayed a range of complex issues. With a real chance to address difficult
and diverse problems within a supportive environment, transformative and
empowering solutions emerge which greatly benefit the families. The outcomes
achieved result in families making positive choices and decisions about their
future lives.
