The Veritas Team...

The Veritas Team is led by Vera Waters who is a social entrepreneur and is a qualified social work manager trained in counselling and psychotherapy including many different healing disciplines.

She has brought together a professional team of practitioners from a variety of backgrounds including social workers, psychologists, teachers, youth workers, musicians, community artists, creative artists, childcare workers, performers, holistic therapists and workshop leaders. Over the years the team have developed their work practices and have trained extensively in family work and have undertaken workshops together on family constellation and parenting programmes.

It is the Veritas Teams’ passion, commitment and expertise and their own personal development that is at the heart of all the work undertaken and delivered to the children and families. It is through them that the positive work is carried out and the successful results are achieved.

The Team meet in circle together, a simple form of group communication that facilitates the deepening of their work together encouraging active listening and allowing the honest and heartfelt stories and experiences to emerge. It is a place where the team share their skills, discuss their own personal development, talk about the work and plan the programme.
It is an interactive supportive group which is modelled on the way we work with the children and families in our community setting. It is a place for lots of laughter and humour which is definitely encouraged in this space. The Team believe that by working in this way we are committing ourselves to being open and creating a special and often life-changing experience for the families who come on our Breaks.

There is a core team of twelve staff and we have many additional professionals we use to work on our innovative and exciting programme. We also employ specialist workshop leaders to bring their unique skills to the children and families we work with. All our staff are Enhanced CRB checked and we have professional insurance indemnity for the work we deliver. The venues we work at all a have insurance cover and we undertake health and safety assurance checks on the venues.
