Our Training Programmes...
We are aware of the changes and pressures on practitioners who work directly
with children and families and that ‘creative community programmes’ are being
requested by managers as we start to think differently about new ways of
preparing assessments which address ‘alternatives to long-term residential
care’. With this in mind we have created training programmes borne out of our
own practice of team building, working innovatively together and working
creatively with children and families.
Training Programmes are intended for …
- Teams working with children and families who want to implement more innovative
programmes, that facilitate positive and creative changes within the family
process.
- Professionals working with children and families who want alternatives to
assessment that address long-term residential care.
The aim of these training programme is to offer a creative, inspiring and
nurturing retreat space for staff teams to be together and re-vision their work
practice. To gain creative skills and to experience a sense of well-being and
relaxation.
How do we achieve this...
- by taking teams out of their work environment and into a more natural
independent location where they can relax and enjoy lovely peaceful surroundings
- by creating a safe space for individuals within the team to envision new work
practices
- by working creatively within the team to release any professional resistances of
change and constraints of the workplace
- by several facilitators introducing a range of skills that use work related
materials in order to add creative tools to established resources whilst
directing the team towards more creative client /practitioner assessments e.g.
use of circle time, talking stick, active listening skills, story-making,
creative visualisation and energy raising techniques
- by having lots of fun, laughter and joy in the process
Benefits...
- in such an environment the team are able relax and reflect whilst enjoying the
company of peers in a safe and nurturing space that promotes sharing
- individuals within the team feel valued, heard, accepted and appreciated for
their gifts and talents
- the team are able to review current work issues and to be creative around
programmes for the children and families who are being assessed and may be on
the current caseload
- the opportunity to share their individual and team vision for their work
practices
- positive feelings are generated about working creatively within the team
- the chance to be together as a team outside the workplace
- more understanding of team members as individuals with time to laugh and have
fun together
